Why does Nature House collect the tourist tax?

French legislation requires booking platforms to collect the tourist tax from guests on behalf of their hosts and remit it to the local French authorities. While hosts previously had to manage this themselves, we are now required to take over this process entirely. This standardizes the procedure and allows the French government to monitor compliance more effectively.

Although this legislation has officially been in place since 2019, enforcement has become significantly stricter in recent years. Therefore, starting April 1, 2026, Nature House will begin collecting tourist tax for all properties located in France.
