More information on the VAT number

When filling in your tax details, we ask for your VAT number. This is because we have to report it to the Dutch tax authorities. 

It is important that you fill in your VAT number correctly. If not, the automatic validator will not be able to check your VAT number and will indicate that it is incorrect. To avoid this, below you will find an overview of the VAT number per country and the way to fill it in in the form.

Important note: Fill in your VAT number exactly as shown in the examples below. So do not add any extra punctuation such as a - or space. Remember to always start with the relevant country code

Exceptions:

  • Do you rent your nature cottage from a company but do not have a VAT number? You can indicate this in the form by ticking the box 'I do not have a VAT number'. Here we ask you to enter a reason why you do not have a VAT number. 
  • Do you rent your holiday home privately, but do you have a VAT number? You can indicate this in the form by ticking the box 'I have a VAT number'. You must then enter your VAT number as described above.
